Runners and Walkers - Register Now!

Please join us on September 18 in Nance Park in Indialantic, FL for the 2010 Turtle Krawl 5k Run/Walk. All proceeds benefit the STPS. For detailed information and to sign up, please print and mail in your completed Registration Form or Register Online:

Amenities

We are also hoping to have a VERY special surprise around 9:00, but can't promise anything, so we'll just have to leave this as a mystery for now!

The Course

The 2010 Turtle Krawl begins and ends in Nance Park, at the corner of A1A and 5th Avenue (US-192) in Indialantic, FL. From the entrance of Nance Park, the race goes:

-South on Wavecrest Ave.
-West on 14th St.
-South on S. Shannon Ave.
-West on Miami Ave.
-North on S. Magnolia Dr.
-Continue North through the park and on the bike path
-East on 8th Ave.
-South on S. Shannon Ave.
-East on 11th Ave.
-North on Wavecrest Ave back into Nance Park

Awards

Beautiful 2010 Turtle Krawl medals will be given to the Top 3 Overall finishers (M/F), the Top Masters (Age 40+) finishers (M/F), and the top 3 finishers in the following male and female age groups:

8 and under
9 - 11
12 - 14
15 - 19

20 - 24
25 - 29
30 - 34
35 - 39

40 - 44
45 - 49
50 - 54
55 - 59

60 - 64
65 - 69
70 - 74
75 and over

 

School Team Challenge

We will be awarding prizes for the Top 3 schools (Elementary and Middle Schools only) with the most Turtle Krawl participants.  If you are an Elementary or Middle School student, simply write the name of your school on the "School Team Challenge" line on the registration form.  The Top 3 schools will be announced during the Awards ceremony, with a special Turtle Krawl award presented to each.

 

Free Parking

Turtle Krawl participants and volunteers can park at any of the metered spots in Nance Park or along Waveland Ave for free until 9:30 AM on race day.  Parking will be enforced starting at 9:30, so be sure to bring some quarters if you plan to stay for a beach day after the race.

 

Posters

If you would like to print a Turtle Krawl poster to hang in your place of business, your school, or anywhere else (with permission, of course), please download our 8.5" x 11" poster (PDF format).

You can also stop by the STPS office and request a pre-printed poster.

 

Volunteers

We could still use a few more volunteers to help out on race day. Activity's we will need help with include:
-General set-up and clean-up
-Race registration
-Aid stations
-Food tables
-Awards table
-Numerous course marshals to direct runners/traffic at each intersection

Volunteers should be at least 16 years old, but volunteering parents are welcome to bring their kids along if they would like to.

If you are interested in volunteering to help out with the Turtle Krawl in any way, please email  volunteer@seaturtlespacecoast.org for more information.  All volunteers will need to have an STPS Volunteer Application form on file with the STPS.  If you haven't already filled one out, please do so now and either drop it off at the STPS office ahead of time or bring it with you the morning of the race.
