Help Spread the Word and Win a FREE Entry to the Race Stay updated and take part in our contests by Liking the Turtle Krawl on facebook! Continuing our popular contest from
last year, every time the Turtle Krawl's facebook page reaches another
100 followers, one lucky person will receive a FREE entry into the race!
If you can't make it to the race, don't worry - we will send you a super cool race shirt instead. The more people who like the Turtle Krawl on facebook, the more prizes we will be giving away!
The Course The 2011 Turtle Krawl begins and ends in Nance Park, at the corner of A1A and 5th Avenue (US-192) in Indialantic, FL. Here is a map of the course, followed by a 3D flyover, just for fun:
What's that you say? You're not a fast runner, so you have no chance of winning an award? Not so fast! New for 2011, we are introducing the "Middle of the Nest" award which goes to the person who finishes exactly in the middle of the field (based on finishing position). The "Middle of the Nest" finisher will receive a medal, a framed award, and a free portrait package courtesy of Rebecca Chupka of Flashback Portrait.
Packet Pickup Race packets can be picked up at Running Zone (on Wickham Road, across from the BCC Pavilion) on Friday, 9/16 from 10 AM - 6:30 PM, or in Nance Park after 6 AM the morning of the race.
Strollers - Yes; Dogs - No You are welcome to run or walk the Turtle Krawl pushing a stroller. All we ask is that you please start toward the back of the pack to help avoid any congestion problems at the beginning of the race. Unfortunately, Nance Park is not dog friendly, so no dogs will be allowed to participate in the Turtle Krawl.
Volunteers We will need 30-40 volunteers for a variety of tasks the week before and especially on race day (if you are not participating in the race). To volunteer, please send an email to turtlekrawl@seaturtlespacecoast.org and someone will get back to you in early September. If you are interested in volunteering for other STPS activities, please email volunteer@seaturtlespacecoast.org for more information. All volunteers are required to have an STPS Volunteer Application form on file with the STPS.
Sponsors If your business is interested in sponsoring the turtle Krawl, please take a look at our Sponsorship Form and contact either Michael or Roger for more information. The STPS would like to send many thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors, including the following companies and organizations. Please visit their websites and remember to support the businesses who give back to the local community!
