Do I have to race?
• No. Non-runners are encouraged to register! You will pick up a race packet including your shirt to show your support for the sea turtles!
When will be virtual race packet be shipped?
• End of August.
What about live race packet pickup?
Live event runners race packets can be picked up at Running Zone (3696 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL, 32935).
Pickup is 10 am to 6:30 pm on September 7 to the 9th, 2022.
Please adhere to the 6 foot spacing guideline and wear a face mask when picking up your race packet.
You may have someone else pick up your packet for you, but please don’t pick up a packet for someone else without them asking you to.
If you are going to be picking up packets for 10 or more people, please call Running Zone at 321-751-8890 at least an hour before you plan to arrive, so we can pull them and put them aside for you.
If you can’t pick up your race packet before the race, it can be picked up after the race at the Turtle House or shipped to you (postage cost pending).
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, strollers are allowed, but running with them is not. We ask that you be considerate and line up toward the back at the starting line.
Are dogs allowed on the course?
No, dogs are not allowed on the course or at Nance Park during the event.
Parking is very limited, and we ask that, when possible, runners carpool. Below is a list of approved parking:

Can I purchase additional shirts or medals at the race?
Yes, pending availability.
I’m worried about the recent increase in Covid numbers and would like to switch my registration to the virtual race. How can I do that?
Due to possible changes in Covid numbers in our county between April registration and the September race, we would like to extend the option of participants switching to the Virtual Race.
Virtual race registration includes race shirt, and shipping. Virtual race packets will be shipped the week prior to race day if received by 9/1.
If you would like to switch your registration, please follow the steps below:
- Click on the ‘Manage Registration’ link on your confirmation e-mail from RunSignUp.
- Once your registration information is pulled up, click on ‘Transfer Event’ at the bottom of the page.
- Click ‘Start Transfer’.
- Select Virtual Race. Please note you will need to pay the difference in race fees along with a Signup Fee charged by the website.
- Continue through the prompts to finish your race transfer.
Q: Can I purchase a finisher medal? Is it included?
A: Finisher medals are included for physical race participants, and extras can be added to your online registration for $10.

I’m having trouble registering. I’m getting some sort of error telling me my privacy setting is not allowing me to register and I need to enable cookies. What’s that all about? How do I fix it?
Our registration system requires that your web browser allow “cookies” (at least during the registration process). To enable them, follow the link below, find the web browser and operating system that applies to you, and follow the instructions. This should take care of the problem, but if not, please don’s hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to assist you:
Can I pay with a credit/debit card, or do I have to have a PayPal account?
We use PayPal’s merchant services to process our registrations, but you do NOT need to have a PayPal account to register. After completing your registration and clicking the “Pay Online” button, you’ll end up on this screen prompting you to log in to your PayPal account. Simply click the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” button and you’ll be able to enter your credit card information on the following screen.
I’m trying to pay with a credit card (not PayPal) and am getting the following error message: “The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please use a different credit or debit card.“
This message is generated when the card you are using is tied to an existing PayPal account. You either need to log in to your PayPal account and pay with it there, remove the card from your PayPal account and then “Check Out as a Guest” again, or use a different card. More info…
MINIMUM PACE REQUIREMENTS
Is there a minimum pace requirement or a maximum time that I need to finish in?
Officially, no. Non-competitive walkers are welcome at the Turtle Krawl, but ideally, you should be able to keep about a 20 minute per mile (3 mph) pace. If you look at the Past Results, you will see that we typically have a dozen or so participants who take between 1 hour and 1:15 to finish the 3.1 mile course each year, and that is no problem at all. That said, A1A will only be closed from 7:30 until 8:30 AM, so be aware that the road may be open to traffic if you are not able to make it to approximately Mile 2.7 within one hour of the start. The Kids Run also starts in the 8:30-8:45 time frame.
Can I get a refund?
Sorry, but all registrations are non-refundable, as explained the terms and conditions you agreed to when you registered. This is standard for all races, sporting events, concerts, etc. Please remember that this is a fundraiser to benefit the volunteer-operated, not-for-profit Sea Turtle Preservation Society. We are sorry that you will not be able to participate in the race for whatever reason but hope you understand that your donation is still very much appreciated.
If you cannot participate in-person on race day, the registration becomes a registration for the virtual race.
Is there going to be a live race day in Nance Park?
Yes, this year we plan on having a live and virtual race.
Can I buy a Turtle Krawl shirt?
We get this question a lot. Surplus shirts will be available for sale at the race. After that, the remaining shirts will be reserved for the virtual race. If there are any shirts left over after the virtual race, we will sell them at the STPS Sea Turtle House. To guarantee that you get a shirt, register now!
Can I buy a Finisher Medal?
Optional Finisher Medals are available to those who register and pre-order them while supplies last. Surplus medals will be available for purchase after the race, but we usually run out quickly so you should purchase a medal when you register for the race.
The Turtle Krawl artwork is awesome! Where can I buy a print?
Prints can be purchased directly from the artist, Mike “Nemo” Nemnich. You can contact him through his website. More information about the Turtle Krawl artwork can be found on the History of the Race page.
What if I can’t pick up my race packet at Running Zone?
During registration, you have the option to choose to have your race packet shipped to you. We will be shipping those about two weeks prior to the race start date.
My shirt doesn’t fit. Can I exchange it for a different size?
Unfortunately, given our limited contacts for the race this year, size exchanges cannot be made.
