Hurricane Irma Update

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) has declared a statewide emergency in response to Hurricane Irma that has  intensified into a Category 5 hurricane that is expected to significantly impact Florida.

We have discussed the Turtle Krawl 5K with the Town of Indialantic and city officials have indicated that they will know more in the next 24 to 48 hours but as of right now, there is a slight chance that the race could still possibly happen. The path and timing of the hurricane are still unknown and a more definitive decision will be made in the next day or two.

We will send out further updates to registrants via email as soon as we hear more from the Town of Indialantic and Brevard County officials.

If the race is cancelled, you can pick up your race packet which includes your shirt and other goodies as well as your finisher’s medal at Running Zone anytime this week or after the storm has passed us and Running Zone re-opens.  Running Zone is located at 3696 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32935.  Hours are 10-6:30 during the week, 10-5 on Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday.

Also, if the race is cancelled, the race will not be rescheduled and no refunds will be issued. Sorry, but all registrations are non-refundable, as explained the terms and conditions you agreed to when you registered. This is standard for all races, sporting events, concerts, etc. Please remember that this is a fundraiser to benefit the volunteer-operated, not-for-profit Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
